Overcoming Sin and Bondage - Find the path to freedom from the hurts, sins, and struggles in your life and the life of your friends. This will be a time where you can interact with God in the midst of anything you are dealing with and find the freedom that only comes through Christ. Also, learn valuable tools for leading others to freedom.
“In” but not “Of” | Be an Overcoming Influence
Part 1 | Christianity and culture – who influences whom? How should we think about secular music, R-rated movies, and TV shows? In this session, we will discuss how Christ interacts with culture and consider what tools we need to be part of the conversations going on in our world.
Part 2 | What we all understand – the message we’ve been given! We will consider what the gospel says about music, movies, and media and how we can use these things to build bridges to the gospel in order to reach the world around us.
Going Deep | Practicing the Presence of God
Overcoming Spiritual Apathy - Is it possible to go to youth group, church, read your bible, serve in ministry, and even pray without ever being in the presence of God? This session will help you go deeper into your walk with God where you are truly interacting with God daily. Then, have an opportunity to practice the presence of God and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to walk with Christ.
College | Prepare and Transition
Overcome the Transition - Hear college students give perspective on what you will experience in college, what you need to do to prepare now, and what is most important in college. You will gain valuable keys to success to make the transition from High School to College.
Dating Discussion
Overcoming Dating Confusion - What does God say about dating? Ask questions, find out answers to the mysteries you have always wondered about and get the opposite sex’s opinion. This will not be your typical dating discussion.
Greatest Thing | The Basics of the Faith
Session A Only
Overcome by Love - Find out what is MOST important about a faith in Christ and what beliefs are essential. Ask questions about Christianity you may be too afraid to ask in youth group and learn the basics of the faith.
American Idol
Session A Only
Overcome Idols – America has a religion other than Christianity complete with a creation story, salvation, and “bible”. Come find out what that religion is, what affects it has had on America, and how teens can make a difference.
Evangelism Tools
Session B Only
Be a Light that Overcomes the Darkness - Learn the tools you need to share Christ with those around you. Explore creative ways to witness and be a light in the darkness. Also, consider how you can team up with other youth groups to reach your school for Christ.
Tough Questions
Session B Only
Overcoming Doubt - Come discuss tough questions about the world, life, God or anything else. Ask anything. Some could include “how do I know Christianity is true?”, “What is this business about predestination?”, “Can God make a rock so big that He can’t move it?”.
Freedom that Lasts
Youth Workers, Leaders, Pastors and Directors
Do you want your people to find real freedom from addictive behaviors and sinful patterns? In the two-part leaders’ sessions, Dave will provide tools to let you know where your people and families "really" are spiritually. In order to truly awaken identity and establish freedom in the body of Christ, we need to understand and diagnose where our people are in their spiritual walk. Dave will connect the main session talks with this practical and biblical approach to help believers conform to Christ's image as he presents Identity-based Spiritual Formation. Jesus came to set captives free. It is our responsibility as leaders to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
